The 50 Children's Books That Should Be In Every Family Library

Best Kids Books.jpg

I loved to read as a child and I still try to make time to read every day as an adult. So I will be sharing articles and information about books often on this blog! You may be familiar with some of the books on this list or you may have even read a few yourself! My personal favorite growing up was Charlotte’s Web! In fact, it is one of the first books I recall being able to read on my own and I remember re-reading it over and over again! It is a wonderful story about friendship and also listed in the treasury of books in Jim Trelease’s The Read Aloud Handbook that I mentioned on World Read Aloud Day.

The Cat In The Hat is a book that both of my kids have found to be fun and easy to read because of the silly rhymes. In fact, Dr. Seuss wrote many of his books to be read by children to themselves. If you have ever seen a logo on a book with the words “I Can Read It All By Myself” it means the book should be read by the child and not to the child. Since next week is Dr. Seuss’ birthday, ask your child to read one of Dr. Seuss' classic books to you!
